The interaction
Magnesium and Antibiotics — a timing interaction. Chelates quinolones/tetracyclines — separate by 2+ hours.
What to do
They are fine to use in the same regimen, but not at the same time. Separate the doses (typically by 2–4 hours) so one does not block the other's absorption.
About Magnesium
Magnesium is an essential mineral concentrated in bone and inside cells, where it is a cofactor for over 300 enzymes including every reaction that uses ATP. Intakes below the requirement are common on Western diets. Forms differ mainly in absorption and bowel tolerance: glycinate and citrate absorb well, oxide is mostly a laxative, and L-threonate is marketed for the brain.
The bigger picture
Supplement–drug and supplement–supplement interactions are the reason a stack should be read as a system, not a list. This platform's interactions graph maps them; the medication side always belongs with the person who prescribes it.
