What is known

Each outcome with its grade (how strong the evidence is, A to D), the size of the effect where the entry records one, and how often studies agree.

  • Vitamin D statusEvidence grade C

What is uncertain

Read off the same rows as above. Nothing here is added that the entry does not itself record.

  • Thin evidence: Free testosterone (grade C); Vitamin D status (grade C); Inflammatory markers (grade C).

Interactions

Documented pairings with supplements and medicines. A medicine on this list is a conversation for whoever prescribes it.

  • Vitamin DWorks together

    Slows vitamin D breakdown — a mild 25(OH)D assist.

  • Tongkat AliWorks together

    Common free-testosterone support stack.

The evidence in words

What it is

Boron is an ultra-trace element found in fruits, nuts, and legumes. It is not classically 'essential' but has measurable effects on mineral and hormone metabolism at supplemental doses.

How it works

Boron appears to lower sex-hormone-binding globulin (freeing testosterone and estrogen), slow vitamin D breakdown, and influence magnesium and calcium handling and some inflammatory markers.

What the evidence shows

Small human studies show ~10 mg/day can raise free testosterone and free estradiol, reduce inflammatory markers, and support vitamin D status. Effects are modest and the literature is thin, but it is cheap and well-tolerated — a reasonable minor addition, not a headline.

How to use it

6–10 mg/day. Often stacked with vitamin D and a testosterone-support goal.

Safety & interactions

Safe at these doses; toxicity requires far higher intakes. Vitamin D — Slows vitamin D breakdown — a mild 25(OH)D assist. Tongkat Ali — Common free-testosterone support stack.

Bottom line

A minor, low-cost lever for free testosterone and vitamin D metabolism. Real but small — a supporting act, not a star.

How it is used

As the entry records it, from the studies it summarises. Not a recommendation for you — doses that suit a trial population may not suit you.
